I generally do not have a problem with being a Prefect. Actually, the pros generally far outweigh the cons. I enjoy having the authority to keep the rest of the student body from acting like idiots all of the time. It’s nice to have the opportunity to at least attempt to get them to realize that it isn’t actually necessary to be all over each other between classes. I get a rush out of it… it’s quite satisfying to be at least a little feared, or whatever.
But this? A social? I don’t like this sort of thing anyway. But I’m being forced to attend simply because I’m a prefect? This seems more like a punishment than anything.
Better yet? I have to attend with a date. Where am I going to find someone I can stand for more than a few minutes? And the only person I talk to somewhat regularly is Miklos, which is generally more fighting than anything.
I wonder what would happen if I was ‘sick’. Surely they couldn’t force me to go if I was ill.
